AUTOMATIC BALL LOADER MACHINE
The automatic ball loader enables a continuous – though still in batches – the topping up of grinding balls while they are wearing off in the tube ball mills. All ineeded is to have adequate level of balls in the feeding hooper that can be either 15 mtons or 21 mtons optionally. The rest is the loading of the balls in to the tube mill according to grinding process necessities as per pre-set scenario(s) in the operating panel.
Key benefits :
►No production loss - always keeping the ball mill at its optimal filling degree & energy level,
►Better grinding efficiency,
►Lesser grinding balls wear due to optimised operation,
►Increased manpower safety due to reduced manual of grinding media handling,
►Preveting less or more topping up of balls compared to actual need,
►Lesser manpower and cost due to automatic handling of the balls,
►Tracking the quantity of the balls added accurately all the time.
The automatic ball loader is easy to operate that the user can choose different modes from the local user interface located on the electrical cabinet as follows;
MAINTENANCE MODE
This is a kind of safe-mode rather than an operating one.
This mode is activated by turning the special key switch located on the electrical cabinet door in maintenance position. The PLC is then bypassed and the ball additions are not tracked anymore. This is used if the PLC is out of order, or if a manual activation of the doors, or of the vibrator feeder is necessary to test, or to unblock the automatic ball loader.
MANUAL MODE
Only one batch cycle is able to be performed per manual start mode. If another ball addition is required additionally, the operator should choose the MANUAL mode again, confirm its choice and starting another batch. The automatic ball loader will also record the balls added in to the mill.
AUTOMATIC MODE
The automatic ball loader is topping up in batches according to ball addition rate parameters in terms of kgs or pounds per working hours of the mill on the basisof pre-set data. The automatic ball loader is then adjusting the time intervals between two batches according to this parameter and targeted weight to load.
Example of automatic operating mode; if the automatic ball loader cannot load/charge the balls in to the ball mill due to some reasons i.e. empty ball hooper or electrical malfunctions etc, the automatic ball loader will track the balls that were supposed to be loaded in to the mill, and top-up the balls as soon as possible when the problem is over.
